NEWYES Attends 45th Hong Kong Toys and Games Fair!

No matter whether you are a child or an adult, I think you will agree that attending a Toys and Games Fair would be nothing but fun! January 7^th-10^th, 2019 was the 45^th Hong Kong Toys and Games Fair, held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. The fair is Asia’s biggest Toys and Games Fair. In 2018, the fair brought in a whopping 49,000 buyers, had 126 countries and regions participated, and had 2,100 exhibitors. For example, one zone was called the “Smart-Tech Toys” which is for toys that bring innovation to the table through virtual reality, or robotics, and other “smart features.”¹ There is also a “Kidult World” which is for adults to see the latest and greatest toys for grown-ups.² The great thing is that the Toys and Games fair is a place for exhibitors to show new and current items, as well as demo some! Don’t forget that there are samples of toys too! There was no way we were going to miss this fair!

Therefore, Fancy, Grace, and Rachel from our Business to Business Department set off to the fair, with the primary goal to attract new customers, and participate in some brand marketing. This year we chose to showcase our many different LCD pads that are designed to suit many purposes, but primarily to foster a child’s creativity. As an item not shown in the fair before, many buyers that had heard of the LCD tablets were excited to get an up close and personal view of the variety of LCD pads we offer.

It was a success. We had many buyers from around the world, like Poland, who was interested in the product to sell at supermarkets and other stores. We even had some visitors from Australia! That was exciting! Of course, what was a treat, was the parents that chose to buy LCD pads for their children, knowing they were helping their children with creativity and their imagination, but also as a great, safe toy.

Moreover, of course, with every purchase, they were maintaining the environment, as an LCD tablet does not waste any trees. After all, our mission statement is “Keep the World Paperless.” By the end of the week, despite knowing we had a significant number of people flow through our exhibit, we knew it was a real success as we did not have a single sample left. We are very excited about next year’s fair, and hope to see you there!
